High-Quality Diesel Storage Solution for Power Generation in the Western Downs region of QLD

Project Overview

A client in the Western Downs region of QLD required a reliable and efficient diesel storage system for power generation applications. The solution needed to include a robust recirculation system and seamless integration with the generator control system. 

A recirculation system is essential in such setups to prevent fuel degradation, remove contaminants, and ensure a consistent fuel supply for optimal generator performance.

Solution Provided

Our team designed, constructed, and installed a 4,500-litre bunded PC Series (CUBE) tank, specifically engineered for static diesel storage. The system was equipped with a recirculation feature to maintain fuel quality and included a 4-20mA level sensor, ensuring real-time monitoring and precise fuel management. The level sensor was successfully integrated with the generator control system, enabling automated fuel level tracking and alerts.

Execution & Installation

The installation process was carried out with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices. The pipework layouts, including covers, were of exceptionally high quality, exceeding client expectations. The system included a dedicated pipework configuration designed to efficiently feed diesel into the generator, ensuring a steady and reliable fuel supply for uninterrupted power generation.

Our installation team worked methodically to position and secure the bunded tank, ensuring optimal placement for accessibility and operational efficiency. Precision-engineered connections were used to prevent leaks and minimize maintenance needs. After completing the physical installation, the system underwent rigorous testing and calibration to ensure seamless operation. The commissioning phase included verifying sensor accuracy, testing the recirculation system, and confirming integration with the generator control system.
