Our client needed a smaller-scale bulk fuel storage system that could move freely across their lease to refuel equipment wherever it was needed. From generator day tanksscattered across the site to light vehicles and heavy machinery, the solution had to cover it all.
Beyond fuelling, they also needed a way to track diesel usage by asset and department, while monitoring tank levels remotely so refills could be scheduled with precision.
Challenges We Had to Solve:
Balance between storage and mobility: A large enough tank to cut down on constant refills, but still safe and legal to move around the site.
Reliable power supply: A system that could run anywhere, without mains electricity.
Smart fuel accountability: The ability to log every litre dispensed against a generator, vehicle, or department, and feed that data instantly back to the office team.
Our Custom PETRO Solution:
We designed and built a towable skid-mounted refuelling unit tailored to their needs. Some items included in the system are:
Solar-powered system - 12V 120AH deep cycle battery charged by solar panels for full off-grid operation.
Twin dispensing reels - Dual Piusi and Graco auto-nozzle hose reels, including high-flow capability for larger machinery.
Water capture filtration - protecting fuel integrity in harsh site conditions
iPETRO Lite Online Fuel Management System- enabling operators to tag assets before refuelling, with all data automatically sent to the cloud portal for real-time reporting.
Mounted on a custom towable skid, the unit can be moved effortlessly across the site behind standard mining vehicles.
